Facebook and Instagram to Allow Posts Calling for ‘Violence Against Russians & Death to Putin’ (Reuters)

Meta Platforms is reportedly planning to allow users in some countries to call for violence against Russian citizens and for the death of President Putin – in an apparent temporary change to its hate speech policy.

Users will also allegedly be allowed to temporarily call for the death of Belarusian President Lukashenko in a number of European countries, according to internal emails seen by Reuters.

The emails say the calls for violence against Russians are allowed when speaking specifically about the country’s special operation in Ukraine, as this was being used as a proxy for Russia’s military.

Notably, Putin’s Official Twitter (https://twitter.com/KremlinRussia_E) account, still remains untouched.
