No Agreement with US Forbidding Attack on Crimea – Kiev

Ukraine had pledged not to attack Russian land with Western weapons – but that promise does not extend to Crimea, Defense Minister Aleksey Reznikov claimed on Tuesday.

“We have an agreement with the US that we will not use weapons provided by the US and partners against the territory of the Russian Federation. But if we discuss de-occupying… there are no such restrictions,” he told US government-funded broadcaster Voice of America.

Reznikov also expressed hope for a delivery of Lockheed Martin-built ballistic missiles – which have a 300km range – far greater than those already supplied by the US and can be used in the HIMARS systems gifted by Washington.
