White House adviser on Latin America Juan Gonzales said that U.S. foreign policy has changed, and today the country “seeks to cooperate with any democratic government.
In front of more than two thousand businessmen at an event in the city of Cartagena (Colombia), the government official under US President Joe Biden spoke about the changes in US foreign policy towards Latin America.
“Forty years ago, the United States would have done everything possible to prevent the election of Gustavo Petro [Colombia’s new president]. And once elected, they would have done everything possible to sabotage his project,” Juan Gonzales said during Colombian Business Congress.
